There Is Help Out There
by Bert Oliva
I have a reader that asked me for some help in these incredible times. And I want to share with you some actual programs that could help those in despair.
I have been in similar situations of despair. I do not know if you are religious but I am. So, I will share with you that my faith is what got me through them. In these trying times we are all paying for the corruption that exists in our world. Do not take it personal and give up hope.
Things seem to be getting better. However if you are in a desperate situation I think you should REALLY think outside of your normal talents and reach deep and hard into other talents you may not have realized you have. Right now believe it or not there are many programs to help you especially from the government or grant monies.
Here are some:
-Gas Assistance Program
-Fuel Assistance Program
-Electric Assistance Program Supplemental Security Income
-Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
-Commodity Surplus Foods Program (for women, infants and children)
-Elderly Commodity Surplus Foods Program
-Temporary Aid to Needy Families Program (TANF)
-Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)
-Head Start Program Aid to Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD)
-Aid to the Needy, Blind, Old Age
-Assistance Food Stamps
There is nothing wrong with getting some help during these trying times. Take a day or so out to find out what hidden talents you have and then see who has the opportunities out there. There is always someone out there that will be willing to help another. Your existing methods of survival can be additional, but move on to something else that can help you financially.
Mentally, change your circle of friends and that may open opportunities for you as well. Surround yourself with people that know how to be strong and give solid advice. If they are where you want to be in life, then you can accept their advice.
Spiritually dig deep within your self. Parks, lakes, or any nature setting can be very spiritual places, just go out into nature, sit alone, find a spot to connect with yourself and the world and ask for what you need. The voices out there can hear you but it has to come from deep within your soul. Sit in silence and listen to the waves as you relax and connect with your higher power.
Keep me posted, and best of luck to you. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Until next time.
