THE WRITER’S BLOCK PARADOX

I have been staring at my computer screen for some untold amount of time pondering what in the world to blog about today. This is ironic for a couple different reasons. The first is because this has been a wonderfully productive weekend, writing wise. I’ve tackled several writing projects I’ve been wanting to make progress on of late. I’ve also discovered a few that I had started a year or so back and revisited with fresh eyes.

Perhaps the biggest reason why my blog-writer’s block is ironic though, is because one of the book’s I’ve been working on is titled “The Writer’s Block Smasher.” I’m not completely sold on this title yet, so please refrain from rolling your eyes in judgement or thinking to yourself, “That’s a horrible title.” Anyhow, this book is a workbook / interactive journal / writer’s block-breaker that has a different topic or question on each page. The goal is to provide a writer who can’t think of something to write about a subject on which to write.

So here I am with writer’s block of my own, blogging about it when I am currently writing a book that aims to conquer this conundrum. Paradoxical? Sure. Ironic? Yes. Humorous? I certainly find it to be, because I always try and find the humor in life – even when I can’t think of a way to write some.

HATERS AND TROLLS

Why is it that the more successful you become, the more violence comes your way? You are probably saying, “What are you talking about?”

You see, we have so many ways to promote ourselves and our businesses these days, namely social media. Social media is a fantastic way to tell the world your dreams and make them a reality. However, the closer you get to success on these new platforms, the more haters and trolls you come across.

I have come across numerous people that started to use social media to promote themselves. As they grew more successful, they received more and more nasty, and sometimes aggressive, comments and feedback and they eventually gave into it.

Why!? Why allow people to steal your dream? The more you try and succeed, the more haters you will have to go through. Don’t give into people that most of the time don’t even use there real names. They create avatars to beat up people following their dreams, usually out of jealousy because they don’t have the courage to reach for their own.

More often than not, these people don’t even take the time to truly look at what you’re doing before they criticize it. I truly laugh at those people who tell us our videos “suck” or our blog posts are “horrible.” How do they know? They don’t even watch the episodes or read our blog.

Don’t stop! Keep working towards your dream and be consistent in your social media. You will succeed, believe you me. Some don’t understand what you’re doig, but if you believe it in your heart then don’t stop!

2) Comment & Forward work that you like.

3) Build Real Relationships with other content creators.

4) Have No Shame in plugging yourself any chance you get.

EYES WIDE SHUT

As I sit here in total darkness, my mind starts to talk. What is it my little voice saying? A lot, if I just take a moment to listen.

I believe that most of our answers are inside of us. We seem to always be looking on the outside for answers. However, if we just sit down in total darkness, our answers will come to us.

And once we open your eyes again, truly then will we start to live.

Example:
How many times have you thought of a person you have not seen or talked to in a long time and then they show up in your life?

What about when you have a thought of person, place or thing and then and only then you start to see signs reminding you of them or it?

I can go on with more examples . . . but you get the idea.

All I’m saying to you is WAKE UP. Wake up now! Open your beautiful heart and soul and you will start to live. Stop looking on the outside and look within. Live the life you were truly meant to live.
