Commit Or Do Not Commit, The Choice Is Up To You!

by Bert Oliva

Have the days of professionalism and courtesy passed us by? I wonder sometimes, if people forget that when they RSVP or commit to something it is common courtesy that they show up unless there has been a real emergency. If you make a commitment you should follow through.

Have you ever stopped to think how you can hinder the outcome for those you affect from your lack of courtesy or commitment? I always talk about trying something out in my seminars. TRY; there is a word that people use lightly. In Yoda language (Star Wars ancient Jedi master) “try is not, there is only DO!”

The definition of try is: conscious exertion of power or hard work. Try is a force of action, not a force of maybe.

How many of you really make an effort when you promise you will try to make it to the next meeting or get together? Let me ask you something when you include someone in your plans does it feel good when they let you down? Then you must make a conscious effort to be honest with people when you commit to someone. It has to start somewhere; it should start with you! So remember, be considerate, because you know that you deserve that same consideration.

Until next time.

Facing The Unknown

by Bert Oliva

Do you go into situations with a positive outlook or a negative one? How you approach the different situations that arise in your life can make a difference in which outcome you generally get.

Have you ever heard of those people that consistently get crappy results for all their efforts in life? They are not really living life; they are just in “automatic pilot” mode. They will continue to get those unwanted results until they realize that they have the power to control most outcomes in their lives.

I have met people that have lost children, took their mourning time and continued to live life. Keeping their memory alive, but not letting them take their lives down or spin out of control.

This is your choice; do I continue to make the rest of my life the best it can be or do I live in misery? I have met MANY people that choose to live in misery without facing such dramatic things in their lives. My recommendations are that if you CHOOSE to stay positive and keep looking forward in every situation you come across in your daily grind, then you can live the life you want.

Make the best of everything that comes your way. If it stinks, look for the lesson in the event. Every experience you have in life is a lesson to be learned. You have the choice to find the lesson or just complain about the result you did not want in your life. IT’S YOUR CHOICE.

Until next time.

What Can I Do To Make It Better?

by Bert Oliva

Well, we hope you did your 7 days of listing your time usage. You must now review what consumes most of your time. It should be obvious. Now those things that are not too important to you, feel free to move them to non-productive times during the week. Try to evaluate in percentages each section you made to see if you agree on how that time is being spent.

Areas you may have:

– Wake up time
– Time getting dressed
– Breakfast time
– Commute time
– Personal calls
– Productivity time
– Lunchtime
– Personal time
– Fitness time
– Dinnertime
– Leisure time
– Bedtime

Maybe you can make better use of your time, like follow up calls when you are commuting or 30 minutes earlier or later in bedtime to make room for one more thing you REALLY need.

I would really recommend that you evaluate your list with someone who can help you, a coach, a successful friend or if you are brave enough, your boss. Look for someone you admire, respect or is in a better financial or family situation than you are. If you want to grow in a certain area of life you must look for someone who has mastered that area in his or her life that you also wish to master.

My best recommendation is to do this at least once a month because as you grow, you need adjustments. Make this an enjoyable activity or you will dread getting this accomplished every month. Maybe turn on your favorite music, light some candles and some aromatherapy. Make this time about you!

If you need a coach to help you move forward just give us a call at 1+(888) 711-2044.

Until next time.

Honest Business

by Bert Oliva

In the world we live in today it is hard to tolerate dishonesty or twisted perspectives of reality.

We are being desensitized and accepting that it is okay to give into temptations and opportunities to get ahead no matter what the cost or consequences.

This trend is damaging the future of our country, our culture and our leadership. This conditioning has lead us into our traceable past of financial downfall. This is a dangerous direction that we are leading America’s culture into. Someone has to stand up and put an end to it.

When you know that you should do something and you neglect it or choose to forget it, it has a ripple effect that can cause one bad apple to make the whole batch go rotten. It is up to you to remind, point out and educated them on the better choice for a better outcome. Yes, it is a harder path to follow but in the end you will be helping yourself, your community and our country.

Until next time.

There Is Help Out There

by Bert Oliva

I have a reader that asked me for some help in these incredible times. And I want to share with you some actual programs that could help those in despair.

I have been in similar situations of despair. I do not know if you are religious but I am. So, I will share with you that my faith is what got me through them. In these trying times we are all paying for the corruption that exists in our world. Do not take it personal and give up hope.

Things seem to be getting better. However if you are in a desperate situation I think you should REALLY think outside of your normal talents and reach deep and hard into other talents you may not have realized you have. Right now believe it or not there are many programs to help you especially from the government or grant monies.

Here are some:

-Gas Assistance Program
-Fuel Assistance Program
-Electric Assistance Program Supplemental Security Income
-Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
-Commodity Surplus Foods Program (for women, infants and children)
-Elderly Commodity Surplus Foods Program
-Temporary Aid to Needy Families Program (TANF)
-Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8)
-Head Start Program Aid to Permanently and Totally Disabled (APTD)
-Aid to the Needy, Blind, Old Age
-Assistance Food Stamps

There is nothing wrong with getting some help during these trying times. Take a day or so out to find out what hidden talents you have and then see who has the opportunities out there. There is always someone out there that will be willing to help another. Your existing methods of survival can be additional, but move on to something else that can help you financially.

Mentally, change your circle of friends and that may open opportunities for you as well. Surround yourself with people that know how to be strong and give solid advice. If they are where you want to be in life, then you can accept their advice.

Spiritually dig deep within your self. Parks, lakes, or any nature setting can be very spiritual places, just go out into nature, sit alone, find a spot to connect with yourself and the world and ask for what you need. The voices out there can hear you but it has to come from deep within your soul. Sit in silence and listen to the waves as you relax and connect with your higher power.

Keep me posted, and best of luck to you. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Until next time.

It Takes Strength

by Bert Oliva

It takes strength to do what must be done when the work is unpleasant and uncomfortable. It takes strength to persist in the face of obstacles, when it would be much easier to simply give up. It takes strength to be polite to someone when that person has been rude to you.

It takes strength to be truthful when a lie would be more convenient. It takes strength to build for the future. It takes strength to resist temptations and distractions. It takes strength to do what is right.

It takes strength to make an effort when it would be easier to make up an excuse. It takes strength to do all these things. And all the while, these are the very things that build even more strength. Be truthful, do what you know is right, put forth effort when it is called for, persist, and the more you do so, the more easily you’ll be able to do so.

Exercise your strength, and you’ll surely grow stronger, more capable, and successful in each endeavor!

Until next time.

Sacrifice

by Bert Oliva

People always talk about sacrifice but what is sacrifice exactly? Sacrifice is letting go of something you cherish possibly for a period of time or forever in order to gain in another area of life. I have studied success for many years now and understand that sometimes sacrifice is very necessary.

Every truly successful person I have personally met or studied has sacrificed some area of his or her life in order to gain that success, wealth or recognition most of us desire as humans. We are all conditioned to reach certain levels of comfort or growth in order to feel like we accomplished something in our lives or for the betterment of mankind. This is something that people quite often ask me how do I give up time with my children in order to give them a bright future.

Well the answer is easy. BALANCE. I always tell my children that during the week I am focused on work. Some weekends I will work out of town or on stage somewhere in the world. When I have the chance I take them with me so they can experience what it is that I do. However when I am not working I focus on them. Weekends are for my family; my wife is great at planning some sort of activity or excursion for the family. So our motto at the office is “WE WORK HARD, AND PLAY HARD!”

For this very reason is why my team and I have developed the basis for HUMANOLOGY. What we all need is BALANCE. If you have some great way you balance your life let us know!
